Heat oven to 375.
For topping, combine oatmeal, 1/3 cup brown sugar, flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Stir in melted butter ; mix until crumbly. Set aside.
Then combine cranberry sauce, remaining 2/3 cup brown sugar & 1 tsp. cinnamon with the cornstarch in a large saucepan, mix well. Heat over med high heat, stirring occasionally, 2 mins or until sauce bubbles. Add apples, tossing to coat. Spread into 13×9 baking dish. Crumble topping over fruit. Bake 25 to 35 mins or until apples are tender. A wonderful accompaniment to pork; also delicious with ice cream. Recipe adapted from one my Mom used (origin unknown).
